Localization of the offshore wind industry: Integration of logistics in pile manufacturing

Giant assisted in the load-out operations of 63 local fabricated pin piles for installation at the Hai Long Offshore Wind Farm, currently the largest offshore wind power project in Asia.

Relying on our rich transportation experience in the past and cooperating with Mammoet-Giant's rigorous transportation planning and analysis operations, these shipments were effectively completed and the wind farm construction progress continued to move forward.

The PP load-out operations operate on a 24-hour shift basis. The HLV Green Jade carries 12 PPs each time to the Hai Long Wind Farm which located in Changhua for installation. Each PP weighs about 400 tons. Mammoet-Giant used 20 axles of SPMT to transport it to the dock. Subsequently, it will be hoisted and unloaded by the HLV.
