Limited Working Space, Effective Hoisting Operation: Lifting of FBT Lid in Gas Plant
Giant undertook the lifting project of the flat bottom tank (FBT) lid of the gas plant.
We faced a challenge of limited working space in this project: lifting the 90t lid from 54m to 70m to reach the hoisting radius without causing deformation. After careful calculation by the engineering team and communication with the employer, an agreement was reached to add the supports to reduce the lateral pulling force generated when the machine is lifted.
Our team overcame this challenge by proposing optimization solutions through rigorous analysis, using high-spec equipment to save work time, and adhering to safety and environmental standards.
